Blogger Templates Makeover

Blogger is getting a major makeover.

Google announced it is revamping its blogging service by offering five new templates that users can tap--for free--to add a fresh look to their blogs.

According to Google, the new templates, which take advantage of HTML5, AJAX and CSS3 technology, offer four key features:

Infinite scrolling: read more posts without having to reload or click to a second page New layouts: different views suited to different types of blogs Speed: download images as you view them, not all at once in advance Interactivity: there are now more ways to experience and engage with blog content

Want to see how your Blogger blog will look with a new template? Add "/view" to the end of your blog's URL to give the fresh looks a whirl (for example: http://www.thecrosbykitchen.com becomes http://www.thecrosbykitchen.com/view. Find out more about the templates, as well as how to disable them, here.

I had 10 blogs on Blogger. Every time I did a makeover or 'cleaned' up my posts or any reorganization of any sort Google would shut me down claiming they were spam sites. This was done automatically by their 'algorithm'. It would take 10 days to get them back up and this only after repeatedly hammering their boards and forums since there is no human contact. This arbitrary control over my business cost me a small fortune.

I moved to Wordpress.

You made the right move to wordpress. Though I am not a frequent Blogger my friend's small business uses their dot org software and it is amazing. The free dot com blog hosted on their servers aint bad either. All with no added Big Brother!

Exactly! No more looking over my shoulder at censors etc. I use the dot org self-hosted one. Never been happier. :)

Yes, one is far better off with Wordpress, all right.
