LA Heatwave: Southern California Hit With Record Temperatures

LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- Scorching temperatures made it feel like summer in Southern California, Thursday, setting records in several places, after weeks of wet weather.

In Downtown Los Angeles, temperatures were expected to hit 90 degrees, according the National Weather Service in Oxnard.

Temperatures reached the upper 80s in many parts of Southern California and they're expected to climb even higher thanks to the Santa Ana winds.

The beaches could see temperatures near 80 degrees, with inland and valley areas approaching upper 80s to low 90s and possibly higher, the National Weather Service said.

The mercury hit 88 degrees in Chatsworth on Wednesday, and Pasadena reached 86 degrees. The high in downtown L.A. was 81 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
