Obama California Trip: President Headed Back To Los Angeles

Obama Los Angeles

By DARLENE SUPERVILLE   03/31/11 06:20 PM ET   AP

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama plans to raise money for Democrats during a two-day swing through California in the coming weeks.

A Democratic official says the president will headline party fundraisers in Los Angeles and San Francisco on April 20-21. Obama attended a fundraiser in New York City this week that netted $1.5 million for the Democratic National Committee.

The burst of activity comes as Obama prepares for his own re-election bid. He's scheduled to attend a fundraiser on April 14 in his hometown of Chicago, where his re-election effort will be based.

The official asked not to be identified because there's been no formal announcement that Obama would attend the fundraisers.

Obama was most recently in California in February.

I am a democrat and I don't like these fund raising trips. Did not like it when Bush did it. He should not use Air Force One for non United States business. Traffic should not be stopped because of this trip too.

He just got back from Brazil.

Been at work a week and now wants to head for LA?

Stay in DC, get some work done. Like a budget.

I seen him speak in October 2010 and Jan 2008 at the universities. Just one big rally of whorah slogans of Together We Can and Yes We Can, and what's he's accomplished. No real dialogue on his policies. I'm not anti-Obama, and of the Republican candidates, I would still vote for Obama, but I'm no longer enthusiatic with our President. And I won't be attending his rallies again nor contributing to the campaign with my time, energy & finances, until I see a particular DOJ case resolved and the President stop compromising on behalf of the rich.

I would love to see him speak.  I missed the Colosseum sold out event with thousands waiting in the streets.  We love the President out here in CA!!!   Just don't go to Palm Springs Barack!

I wish he would come to the other cities in California - like Oakland/Berkeley. President Clinton came to Oakland and it was incredible for the children as well as us adults. LA, although my family lives there, has enough celebs.

I'm not donating 2 cents to this guy until I see some Progressive action.

That's foolish talk, again! President Obama has taken MORE progressive action than any other president in my lifetime (and I'm almost 1/2 century old). You liberals need to wake up before your impatience & self righteousness bring about the absolute dissolution of the middle class in America. People who think like you are the Republican Party's dream. You do EXACTLY what they expect liberals to always do: Unrealistically, place all of their frustrations & expectations onto 1 man & when he doesn't get everything done the way they want, they become disillusioned & check out. Good luck with that strategy. Liberals' impatience with & unrealistic expectations of Lyndon Johnson gave us Richard Nixon & before the assasination of John F Kennedy liberals were attacking him as being too Republican-like and not strong enough to stand up to Republicans. The latter is verified by both my mother's & uncle's accounts of what was going on during the Kennedy presidency. And Ted Kennedy's impatience with Jimmy Carter gave us Ronald Reagan. Will you people EVER learn?

I sometimes wonder if the bungled L.A. traffic situation is worth having the president visit.

At $4.00 a gallon I hope not either... but, I believe the wonderful Mayor Antonio (I'm a celebrity) Villaraigosa and his well paid city planners are to blame.

Maybe. Maybe the progressives will become what the tea party has become to the GOP. Demanding Obama listen to the real liberals.
