First Posted: 04/01/11 05:05 PM ET Updated: 06/01/11 06:12 AM ET

TRIPOLI, April 1 (Reuters) - The Libyan government rejected ceasefire conditions set out by rebel leaders on Friday, saying government troops would not leave Libyan cities as demanded by the opposition.

"They are asking us to withdraw from our own cities. .... If this is not mad then I don't know what this is. We will not leave out cities," said Mussa Ibrahim, the government spokesman." (Reporting by Maria Golovnina; editing by David Stamp)

I get more disgusted every day with the lies we are fed by our Gov. This shook me to the bone: Some truth to the secretive nature of our leaders:

On Monday night, Obama gave a speech intended to explain America's mission and purpose in our new Libyan adventure. He said: "Some nations may be able to turn a blind eye to atrocities in other countries. The United States of America is different."
He forgot to add: "However, the United States of America will be turning a blind eye to atrocities in Syria, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Jordan, the Ivory Coast and Bahrain."

I guess there is a difference in threatening to "show no mercy" to your own people--trying to kill you, as opposed to actually showing no mercy to Palestinians fighting to be free.

"We will come to rescue and we will find those who have posed so much damage to the unity of our country. They could run away they could go to Egypt or wherever they want to go but the traitors who are
agents for the West for America and the UK, the Europeans and Americans won't be able to say anything to defend those traitors they would like us to lose our honour and dignity..., they cut off communications, electricity, water and we would surrender our honour to them, our dignity, to Qatar, what a shame, those who  would surrender their weapons and would join our side, we are the people of Libya, those who would surrender their weapons who come in without their arms we will forgive them and we will have an amnesty for those who put down their weapons and we will collect those weapons from the streets. Anyone who throws his arms away and stays at home will be protected... you've been fooled, you've been taken advantage of, throw away your weapon and we will collect those weapons and you will be safe. They are using you as scapegoats...Those young men have been taken advantage of. Those infidels who are attempting to burn down our country to the ground, we should have no mercy on them. Those are the traitors, used and abused by those infidels from Qatar unfortunately Kuwait and other Gulf countries. How stupid can you become to allow yourselves to be taken advantage of to that extent in Benghazi", MUAMMAR QADDAFI, the Al-Jazeera translation.

Thanks. I wonder what caused Bishop Tutu to support this aggression.

There are no similar conditions being posited by the Kaddafis. They demand only unconditional surrender and a lapse into a reign of terror.

Civil and uncivil war is on. The US and now NATO no fly policy and rocking back the Kaddafi tanks and artillery is saving countless lives and the spirit of freedom.

To quote Che, in revolution there is only victory or death. I support the rebels and freedom. The rest is just details.

Not to interrupt the wake for the rebels, but:

"the rebels' losses this week underlined the inferiority of their equipment, training and organization, compared to the regime's.

There were signs of at least some rebel improvement in all three areas Friday.

The rebels had mortars, weapons they previously seemed to lack, and on Thursday night they drove in a convoy with at least eight rocket launchers – more artillery than usual. The rebels also appeared to have more communication equipment such as radios and satellite phones. A newly installed diesel generator, allowing pumps at a gas station east of the main fighting, was another improvement."

Well, why would they accept the rebels' cease-fire conditions? Gaddafi was winning.

Wow. Did you come to the right thread if you are looking for a fight.

You are of the opinion that Qaddafi is wrong to order the troops to open fire on unarmed protesters?

Whacky. Show me a little more quality and I'll fan you.

The US Air Strikes are all done for now. Obama pulled our Forces to a supporting Role. So if no other Aircraft are Available we might sent Aircraft to protect cities from attack. We have NATO In charge of Air Strikes right now.

NATO is our sock puppet.
NATO doesn't have their own airforce that is made up of non-American citizens.

You are falling for legal terminology and propaganda.

Who do you think carries out these NATO operations?
It's the same allies that have been conducting operations from the beginning of this ordeal.

Do you truly believe that the U.S. military is just handed over to NATO command?

Here's some reality;
NATO's military operations are directed by the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, and split into two Strategic Commands both commanded by a senior US officer assisted by a staff drawn from across NATO.

We are the most powerful nation with the world's most powerful military.
NOBODY will ever direct them other than our U.S. commanders.

The rest is just a big song and dance for the sheeple.
