The Top Rated Tech CEOS: Schmidt Beats Jobs

The Huffington Post     First Posted: 04/01/11 05:06 PM ET   Updated: 06/01/11 06:12 AM ET

Eric Schmidt on April 4 will step down from his position as Google CEO, passing the torch to the company's co-founder Larry Page.

Schmidt is going out on a high note, with his employee approval rating at 96 percent, up three points from 2010.

Comparing Schmidt with other CEOs in the tech industry, Glassdoor.com has compiled a list of approval ratings collected from employees over the past two years. Topping the list is Schmidt, who beat out notables like Yahoo's Carol Bartz, Microsoft's Steve Ballmer and Apple's Steve Jobs.

While Bartz's approval rating took a serious plunge this year (the biggest among her peers), she ranks as a more preferable boss over Ballmer. On the other hand, Steve Jobs remained a favorite among employees, even during his medical absence.

To see how employees ranked these and other tech CEOs, take a look at the slideshow (below), which is based on Glassdoor's findings. Then, check out our slideshow of tech titans' lavish homes.

Steve Jobs should be no# 1. He's the founder of his company, AAPL , while Eric Schmidt just got invited to the Google job, after everything had been made.

Employee approval ratings aren't important. The United States Constitution clearly states that America is 100% unadulterated market economy (at least that's what a tea partier told me it said) and in a free market economy it is better to be feared than loved. I want to know what their fear rating is.

Interesting. I hope none of those employees are getting payment based on market cap or stock prices.

Google's has stayed almost flat over the last year, while Apple's has gone from $240 to $340.

Lame article? Even worse. Lame survey. Wonder how many of those taking it had ever met or worked with their CEO? I remember interviewing at Oracle and encountering Ellison worship back in the 1980's. It was creepy - clearly not connected with reality.

Comparing Apples (no pun intended) to oranges. Like, who cares? What a lame article.

Who the heck cares about rating, they're still making millions everyday.
