Starting 10 years from now, in 2021, Americans would no longer enroll in the Medicare program, but instead receive vouchers for private insurance, according to the GOP sources, who stressed anyone 55 or older now would not be affected by the change. seniors are still covered

On Medicaid, Ryan's plan calls for deep cuts, as much as $1 trillion. The program would also  Read More...

Why not recall Paul Ryan as well while we're at it on the state legislators?
Let's put Paul's plan to a personal referendum. If Wisconsin likes his budget, Paul keeps his job. If Wisconsin doesn't like his budget, then Paul's unemployed like the rest of us and soon the Wisconsin state legislators. Direct Democracy. Ain't democracy great.

Hmm...cut Medicare and Medicaid, make the Bush tax cuts permanent, and cut corporate income taxes. How this any different from the ol' time religion that the republicans always preach? As always, this is good for the wealthy and bad for the poor, working, and middle-classes.

What a surprise!

Fine, kill Medicare but I want every dime I've paid for Medicare over the last 30 odd years back, with interest. If I can't get the benefits then I shouldn't have to pay the money.

Same thing goes for Social Security.

From; http://www.roadmap.republicans.budget.house.gov/Plan/

"As the marketplace begins to respond to this new patient-centered control, the resulting increase in competition will improve the quality of services and provide more options to meet the diverse needs of Americans, while lowering costs."

I can remember when McDonald's was the only game in town. All the competition from BK, Wendy's, Sonic, et al. have not kept a burger, fries and coke less that $1.00 (even with ag subsidies). So with that as an economic model, why does Ryan think old guy like me are buying his shell game?

Isn't that what they said about energy deregulation?

Just wait until the majority of the "Middle Class" being " "Attacked" by the Republicans do the same thing to the Democratic party as the Middle CLass did to them in November, 2010. Demoncrats just do not get it, which is why they get from the Middle Class.

Federal Taxes are lower than at any time since 1960; Federal Deficits are higher than at any time since 1960; Defense Spending is higher than at any point since World War II. Privatized Wall Street HealthCare Monopolies take a larger share of the U.S. economy each year now than Federal Government. Privatized HealthCare rates have gone up 4 times faster than any other sector outside of Military nearly every year.

It's not hard to see what needs to be done, but none of these facts is being acted upon intelligently. Wall Street continues to win. Wealthy continue to become more-so. Everything else decays and descends into deeper layers of debt and poverty.

Let ALL Bush Tax Cuts expire for everyone. That puts 4 Trillion over ten years back in to the Federal Budget to pay for civil necessities.

Get out of the Middle East, close 800 military bases around the world, rid the budget of defense contractors and return most of the functions and engineering of National Defense back over to the Pentagon.

Remove professional lobbyists privileged access to public officials and put a cap of $100 donations (including travel and gifts) toward any candidate or party from any registered contributor (SS# required); eliminate contributions from corporations and foreign governments.

Bold the section in the Constitution that says "AND PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE" -- which is the primary reason these days people form and benefit from collectives of diverse communities under One Nation.

Of course, Ryan and the rest of the D.C. leaches will still have their gold-plated, Rolls-Royce health care!!! What do lthey propose to do with our independantly well-funded Medicare plan? Other than destroy it, that is?
11:52 PM on 04/03/2011
I think the government, gold-plated, Rolls-Royce health care for congress should be abolished! Let the congress people find their own private health care in the market and then they may better understand the problems.

. . . What's going unnoticed in Ryan's plan . . . he has a tax INCREASE on incomes $20,000 thru $250,000 . . .again taking away from the middle class to pay for the rich.

the right wing version of america is one where private companies handle everything... there will be no government services.. no government oversight... no no no..... everything you can think of that is a government service, or function , they want to be privatized.. everything...
and then they want to legislate your morals, on their terms.

If all of the Bush tax cuts were phased out, we would reduce the deficit by the same amount ($4 trillion).
11:58 PM on 04/03/2011
It is so obvious, and those tax cuts were never set up to be permanent. Extending tax cuts for the rich when it bankrupts the country is insane!
