Roxana Laercia, Michael Eguonoghen Attempt To Bring Massive Amount Of Drugs On Flight

Couple Tries To Board Plane With 24 Pounds Of Coke

A young British couple was arrested at Lima's Jorge Chavez International Airport boarding a plane with 24 pounds of cocaine and 100 heroin capsules, according to the Agence France Presse.

Roxana Laercia and Michael Eguonoghen were on their way to London at the time of the arrest. Laercia had 24 pounds of cocaine in her clothing and Eguonoghen had swallowed roughly 3.3 pounds of heroin capsules.

The British couple aren't the only ones to get busted with drugs or drug paraphernalia recently: a JetBlue passenger was arrested in February at Boston's Logan airport after it was found she swallowed 50 pellets of cocaine.

And in separate but related news, Montel Williams was arrested in January with a marijuana pipe at Milwaukee's General Mitchell International Airport. It should be noted that Montel Williams was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and is a proponent of legalizing medical marijuana.
