Brooklyn Teacher Arrested For 'Terroristic Threats' Is Out Of Rikers On Bail

Sabrina Milo was released from Riker's Island last night after meeting $100,000 dollars bail, WABC reports.

Milo, an art teacher at Ft. Hamilton High School in Brooklyn, was arrested Friday after telling co-workers she was going to bring a machine gun into school and "settle some scores."

Law-enforcement sources told The Post that Milo allegedly told co-workers yesterday that she would shoot up the school like in the infamous 1999 Columbine HS massacre in Colorado.

Authorities were also concerned, the Post reports, because Milo might have access to weapons through her husband, who was in the military,

Robert Morales, who lives across the street from Milo, told the New York Daily News, "I'm worried. I think she should be locked up."

Another neighbor, Prasanna Gunaratna, told the News he thought his neighbor was just bluffing. "I'm pretty sure she said it without planning to do something like that," he said. "She was probably just having a bad day."

But whether or not it was just a bad day, Milo was arrested for making a terroristic threat, a felony charge put on the books after 9/11, and if convicted, could face up to seven years in prison, according to The Staten Island Advance.

Milo's lawyer, Andrew Stoll, told the Advance, "No reasonable person who knows Ms. Milo would have believed that she meant her alleged comments as anything but an exaggerated personal venting."

Milo has been ordered to stay away from Fort Hamilton High School while she's out on bail.

The news comes a few weeks after Chistina Rubino, another New York City teacher, found herself in trouble when she posted angry comments on her Facebook page. She wrote, "I'm thinking the beach is a good trip for my class. I hate their guts" a day after a Harlem girl drowned during a class trip to the beach.
