Denny's is no stranger to bacon, having served it up at breakfast for decades with their Grand Slams. However "America's diner," along with support from America's Pork Checkoff Program, has stepped up its bacon offerings with the new, limited-time menu called "Baconalia!: A Celebration of Bacon." The crispy and salted pork product invades Denny's like never before, with items like Bacon Flapjacks, Bacon Meatloaf, and the BBBLT. But the most peculiar and talked about new offering is the new Maple Bacon Sundae. Here's how it rates.

This sundae is similar to what I ate last night. Decadent chocolate cake with 1 1/2 c of oil, 2 sticks of butter with a mix of powdered sugar. Arrrrgh......I'm truly guilty right now. But bacon is not my cup of tea. i dread the sight of the white strips and the fat that is deposited later on my pan when it cools! Not a good way to start a day either!

They send me a coupon for this thing and I just can't do it, it is too disgusting.
This is something that you eat on a dare and then promptly run to the bathroom to regurgitate it.

I'd take a pass on this. I am looking forward to real maple syrup.....its time here. I'll just have some crepes with some tasty syrup. That shake will get you into the ER stat. IMO.

Everything is bacon and maple these days. Our town cupcakery has a bacon and maple syrup cupcake, and I just saw Anthony Bourdain on tv last night drinking a bacon and maple coffee drink in San Francisco.

i saw this on youtube being served in a fancy restaurant by a chef. except this e bacon was chopped in bits and pralined and salted. it looked delicious. not surprised to see it here. i bet it would make a great waffle icecream sandwhich.

If that's the case, go to the store and get your own bacon.

Brilliant advertising idea. Why not put something outrageous on the dessert menu to get noticed. Who cares if anybody actually orders it!
