UPDATE: The third and final bald eagle egg hatched on the evening of April 6. A recorded video of the event is below, with the original post and live feed below that.

Original Post:

Two down, one to go!

The Decorah eagle cam has attracted the eyeballs of millions, as many wait patiently to watch the arrival of three baby bald eagles. The viewership has been so overwhelming that the site crashed Saturday after the first egg hatched.

NPR reported a slight crack in the third egg a little after noon, but it's unclear if it has, in fact, hatched. The mother apparently immediately got on top of the eggs following the event.

Check out the live video of the nest below, where thousands are watching in anticipation of the final egg hatching.

Are the birds eating? Seems like when food is brought, one eats it all and the other just watch. I hope they all get food.

You can go to the UStream page and see RECENT videos/photos from the last few days.

I watched this one (from 06/03) and you can clearly see that E1 is the SAME SIZE as her mom.

more hopping around and wing flapping . . . am wondering if these eaglets will first hop to a branch of the cottonwood tree . . . they are surrounded by leaves . . . maybe they need more open space to fly? have never seen this before and don't know . . .

want to be sure you all know that the little hummingbird in the rose bush in southern calif is now incubating two eggs . . . she started reburishing another nest while her chick was fledging and she evidently got some hummingbird single parent nooky around that time and then laid two more just as her little one was fledging. you can see the relative sizes by the rose hip developing nearby.

those closeups aren't always flattering either. reminds me of my mother in law saying how cute and cuddly and wonderful babies are and then they get big and grow hair on their legs and get all disgusting. well, that must be when it's time to leave the nest. these little ones won't mate for five years while they grow up and learn survival skills.

Must be pretty HOT ... E1 is right in front of lens panting away. I saw that femur bone earlier ... now that I know it was from a fawn ... wow ... the circle of life, huh?

maybe it's the bugs that make them want to fly . . . like horses swishing tails . . .

HEehehehehehhe ... good one! That may be the parents way of making them VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. I read they just keep BUILDING on top of everything.

OMG!!! They are eating another fawn leg. It would be interesting to see Mom or Dad carrying that to the nest!!! I hope it was road kill. I don't think the parents are strong enough to take a baby deer down. Still sad to see that, but our babies have to eat.

If one accidently fell out of the tree, would the parents try to rescue it?

Pretty windy out today ... only see TWO eaglets (unless one is under the camera lens).

Sounds like a STORM is on the way. Wonder if E1 has FLEDGED.
