Glenn Beck Confirms End Of Fox News Show (VIDEO)

Glenn Beck confirmed his imminent departure from his daily Fox News program during the start of his Wednesday show. Beck and Fox News announced earlier on Wednesday that he will "transition" out of daily television, and will instead produce specials for the network.

"I am going to leave this program later this year, but I am not leaving Fox, and I will explain at the end of the program," Beck said. "There is much more important news than 'what's the big fat chunky guy on TV going to do in his future?' This show has always been about our country's future."

At the end of the show, Beck said that he initially had rejected Fox News' offer to start a show, but had changed his mind because "I thought that I had something important to share. I really thought that if I could prove my case that something wicked this way was coming...America would listen. And they have."

Beck said he didn't take the job to make a career for himself. "Paul Revere did not get up on the horse and say, 'I'm going to do this for the rest of my life,'" he said. "He got off the horse and fought in the revolution."

Finally, Beck addressed his viewers directly. "We will find each other," he said. "I'm developing other content for Fox...I will continue to tell the story, and I'm going to be showing you other ways for us to connect. But I have other things to do."

Beck is learning that viewers don't like to watch older unattractive people.........

Something is not right about this. Why would Fox News be "Happy" with both stories that Beck got fired, or Beck quit? And in either case, one doesn't usually hang around for another six months at the job you got fired from, or quit. If ad revenue was the issue, why is he going to remain on the air "until later this year"? if it was his message, why is he going to be allowed to deliver it for another six months?

He has the third highest rated show on cable. So, it Beck going to have a bunch of stand-ins for six months? Or, is Beck going to have a six month reinvention? Either way, I don't think we have heard the last out of Glenn Beck.

I haven't followed this much except for the headlines, but is Beck leaving his Fox radio show too?

Beck the modern Prophet Seer and Revelator. His philosophy is as relevant as that of his religious
leader Joseph Smith. Both are very seriously psychologically confused men.

Burn in he'll beck. You have contributed to political discourse and the newly elected tea baggers lousy agenda for most Americans. You may think you're right but the microphone should never have been given to you to share your ideas

I'm glad you had enough sense to listen to him. I have followed up on most of what he talks about and he is right whether you like it or not. Facts are facts Go tea baggers

Oooo share some of those facts. Where's the Caliphate? Where are the Obama education camps? Where's the global army being built? Where's Obama's civilian army better funded then the military? These are but a few of Beck's crazy baseless assertions

Go tea baggers? Is it better to give or receive?

Beck?  He wasn't even all that political in the mid-terms.  He's been on a different kick.

Now, I do think that Hannity stuck to politics.

What a laugh--Beck is "transitioning" out of TV. Hey--Trump should use that line on Apprentice--"You're TRANSITIONED."

One thing he did right was to tell people to buy gold.

...He told people to buy gold at the top of the market, while he was a shill for Goldline. Conflict of interest much?

Beck was shilling for Goldline who never delivered gold per melt rate even near the coast. They sold extremely overpriced coins and the melt weight value was no where near the cost people paid. He was bilking the elderly and other folks PT Barnum talked about

We don't have to wait till end of the year to see Beck gone, he'll vanish within a month.
He'll talk to Ailes so he can be released sooner, a lot sooner.

Fox is going to try to style itself as more "professional", "credible" and "balanced". Sadly, this move makes Fox more dangerous, not less so. Its radical nature becomes less immediately apparent for many.

Key word is 'try'. The will still enthrall the usual swath of uncritical tv viewers. Outrage the usuals swath of those who are irked by the fairly unbalanced routine, and they will make the rest of us laugh until we cry. Nothing much will change, in other words.

I hope you are right. But with so much at stake in the coming election, I worry. I also remember that Fox news was created after the 1995 shut down specifically to provide a media outlet for the conservative message. It is going to take a lot vigilance and hard work to win over enough centrists to vote in their own best interests for once. This move by Fox, I think, is an attempt to seem more credible with them. But I do, very sincerely, hope that you are right.
