Rob Riggle Close To '21 Jump Street' Villain Role

'Daily Show' Star Going Evil In Big New Role?

Rob Riggle has this cop movie thing down pat.

According to Variety, the former "Daily Show" correspondent -- who played a cop in last year's flick, "The Other Guys" -- is in talks to join the big screen remake of Johnny Depp's early 90's undercover cop show, "21 Jump Street" The Hollywood Reporter chimes in that Riggle would play "a member of D.A.D. -- Dads Against Drugs. -- who has a burn-marked face and is secretly the main drug supplier."

The film, about cops who go undercover in high school and colleges, will star Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, the latter of whom lost significant weight for the film.

"It's a comedy with really cool action," Hill said in February. "We're not doing something serious like 'Miami Vice.' But it's not a parody. It's a funny movie with a lot of great action and a real story. I've been saying that it's like a John Hughes movie with 'Bad Boys' style action."

Perhaps the action role comes naturally for Riggle -- he's served in Afghanistan, Kosovo and Liberia as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Marine Corps Reserve.
