Bill Cosby Slams Trump, Stuns Meredith Vieira Into Silence (VIDEO)

Bill Cosby stunned Meredith Vieira into silence when he criticized Donald Trump on Thursday's "Today" show.

Cosby was on the show to discuss education, but his segment was following Vieira's interview with Trump about his presidential aspirations. Besides the buckets of controversy Trump has caused with his descent into birtherism, he has also been very cagey about his presidential aspirations. This clearly rankled Cosby, and when Vieira happened to mention Trump's name, he cut in.

"Oh please with Donald Trump," he said. "Take him home with you."

"Now why do you say that?" Vieira said. "Because he's full of it," Cosby responded. There was at least a three-second silence--an eternity in television. Then, Vieira softly asked, "based on what?"

"Based on what I just heard," Cosby said, castigating Trump for not announcing his intentions. "You run, or shut up...but the only thing he's running is his mouth."

"Well, on that note, Bill Cosby..we'll see if he runs," Vieira said, somewhat awkwardly. "I don't care!" Cosby said.

What we see in this clip is a person who has convictions and intellectual gravitas talking with a person who is intentionally a hollow shell.  Because Ms Vieira has not been told by her employers what to say on this topic, she has nothing to add when Mr. Cosby points out that Donald Trump is not worth our time or notice.  The debate in her mind must have gone something like this... So exactly what thoughts of any value concerning education, did Mr. Jello Pudding present?

Seems strange or disingenuous to ask Billio anything about Trump.... Humm , to help with the ratings maybe?.. His Billy Pulpit was wasted when he left Camille..

10 Years of Ignoring Bill Cosby’s Entire Existence Comes to A Screeching Halt; 03/10/11.

For the past 10 years, I’ve ignored Bill Cosby as much as possible. He’s on Charlie Rose? I won’t watch that night. Someone’s tweeting about him? I’ll mute them. He’s speaking at commencement when I graduate from Temple. Fine, I’ll focus on my big day.

But yesterday my streak was unceremoniously broken!

According to various twitter timelines, Cosby spoke at the National Action Network Keepers of the Dream Banquet. I refer to such events as BPOs–Bougie Pontification Opportunities. Apparently, he used his speech, again, to touch on one of his favorite subjects–Welfare Queens. I saw a tweet that quoted Cosby as saying something to the effect of ”you got mothers who are having more babies just to get an extra $370 a month.” I flew into a rage.

To be clear, I wasn’t at the banquet. I didn’t hear, nor do I need to hear, the complete content of Cosby’s speech. Why? Because the fact that Cosby thinks that in midst of recession, with 14 million people unemployed, many of whom are black and haven’t worked since the recession began, that welfare abuse is worth mentioning PERIOD shows you the degree of delusion he operates under. That alone is enough to make me write him off forever.”

I've been wondering the same; I like him but I fear he may be in the early stages of Alzheimers or other dementia. He still has some good points to make, and he can still make me laugh, but I see a change in his personality, some confusion in his speech and thought patterns, and some memory problems. Aside from the cognitive changes, there could be an emotional component; I don't think he's ever been the same since his son was murdered. I don't know if he was murdered by a black person but if so I wonder if that has influenced his distorted and exaggerated thinking about black folks. I worry about him and feel sad because as a fellow comedian I always considered him a national treasure as a comic and educator.

The last person to stand in front of young black kids and reprimand them should be a man who cheated throughout his entire marriage with various women which he inevitably had to pay them off. I am white, so I do not pretend to be the Dali Lama on exactly what can help the black community. But I do know what has hurt the black community. Too many "sheriffs" without the education OR moral compass needed to be real examples.

And yes he is slowly slipping into "senility". That explains the chaperone he has whenever he does an appearance. A gifted comic no doubt. But not the guy who should be leading the "charge" so to speak. Insulting your community is ignorant. The best and true leaders of any cause and from any era understands how to connect with the people who are not as "learned" so to speak. You do not denigrate or belittle them.

Showing respect for poor, uneducated blacks does not enable reckless and irresponsible behavior. Whether older black folks want to admit it or not. The black youth of today have it harder than they did. Just because they are not marching does not mean they are not at war. He is a walking contradiction. I wish someone would be honest enough to tell Bill the only "reckless behavior" born of an uneasiness to "be real" with someone, is actually his own.

By the way Enis Cosby's killer was a Russian Immigrant, not a black person.

New York Times; February 27, 2010. People have been wondering for some time whether Bill Cosby is losing his marbles as he ages. Each year he seems to become more bizarre with his ANTI-BLACK-FOLK rants. But yesterday, Bill took things to another level.

During an interview, Bill got up, approached a female publicist - and then told her to SHUT UP.

After he finished chastising the women, he then began a diatribe BLASTING Black people for the high murder rate throughout the United States. Unfortunately for Bill, no one told him that according to FBI statistics, the murder rate in America is the LOWEST SINCE THE 1970s - when Bill was a young man. SMDH!!!

Bill Cosby showed the world his racist streak during the Tawana Brawley case by hiding her in order to keep police from questioning her..Bill owes mostly white america everything he has.If it wasn't for white folks buying his comedy albums in the sixies and seventies he would not have become the rich leftist elitist that he is.

Mr. Cosby's ancestors have already paid his bill IN-FULL through their FREE slave labor. He doesn't owe you a d@m thing.

Thanks, Bill, for saying what everyone in the media already knows, but is afraid to say. I guess Meredith was expecting yet another sugary sweet, interview lite. If only Bill had commented one the obvious r@cist origins of the whole birth certificate argument that Trump keeps peddling.

I love Bill Cosby.

I shake my head over the fools who think someone is smart or important because of the money he has.

I want to thump my head on the wall over fools who think someone is smart or important because of the money he CLAIMS he has.

I always knew that Dr. Cosby was a very intelligent man. He just said what so many people that are in high profile positions are thinking. He is not afraid to speak his mind and I applaud him for that . Now he needs to run for president.

Seems like the older people get, the better they are at cutting to the chase and saying exactly what's on their minds, and many times they speak with the wisdom of many years of experience. Well done, Dr. Cosby.
