Controversy broke out at Augusta National Golf Club after a wild final round of the Masters.

After 26-year-old Charl Schwartzel won his first green jacket., The Bergen Record sports columnist Tara Sullivan was barred from the locker room because of her gender.

"Bad enough no women members at Augusta," Sullivan tweeted. "But not allowing me to join writers in locker room interview is just wrong."

Masters officials apologized to Sullivan and claimed that it was a security mistake.

Mostly optimistic. Sometimes sarcastic.

You know what? Why not ban ALL reporters from locker rooms? I have yet to be impressed with ANY "report" coming from a locker room. Wait 20 minutes and speak to the players once they've showered and changed clothes.

Each organization (team, club, etc.) decides whether to allow journalists in the locker room. There are two legal options: either all reporters can enter a locker room or no reporters can.

"Female Reporter Barred From Masters Locker Room"

Is that a problem? Are male reporters able to go into the female locker rooms?

To believe that female reporters should be allowed in a male locker room is the epitome of feminist hypocrisy.

The Feminist Movement is ultimately about gaining power and control over men. And the fact that females are now allowed into a male locker room when the men are naked or semi-naked reveals just how successful that agenda has become. It is successful to the point that any male athlete that dares speak out against this blantant invasion of his basic human rights to privacy, respect, and dignity is immediately slapped down by intimidation and threats of the loss of his job and income by feminists, feminist organizations, and those who have been brainwashed into believing it is clothed female reporters that experience sexual harrassment in a male locker room rather than the athlete.

I addressed this issue in detail in a 4-part article posted on The Cypress Times (http://www.thecypresstimes.com/ColumnistSe…). It explains why the arguments feminists use to rob male athletes of their basic human rights are flawed and hypocritical.

If feminists and female reporters were truly interested in equal rights they would insist that the sports organizations forbide all reporters - male and female - from entering locker rooms. Rather, a room would be specifically set aside to interview athletes after they are dressed. But they don't. They insist on bullying their way into the locker room in the name of equality.

It seems the idea of equality for feminists is the subjugation of men.

True. Maybe the rule should be that no interviews may be given to the media in locker rooms. That way, men aren't locked out of women's locker rooms while their female colleagues are admitted, and vice versa.

This is tough.
As a woman, I would never feel comfortable with men in our locker room, and double standards are no good, so I guess maybe females shouldn't go into male locker rooms either???

Here's a thought - maybe nobody but athletes & coaches should go into locker rooms. Reporters don't follow firemen back to the firehall after the fire is over; reporters aren't allowed in to board meetings & they have been cleared out of police stations in the past decade. There are in fact a lot of places that are off limits to reporters so why not make the locker room one of them.

Maybe with the application of a little stem cell research women reporters could grow their own pair. Problem solved.

In media and press ,no sex preferences , so happened that she's the only female, besides the place is not very appropriate ,,a male locker . The guard did just right same as to apologize is a nice gesture.

This was an honest mistake by a security guard, a female one at that. Augusta apologized as soon as they were made aware ofthe sitation. Please stop calling out the PRIVATE golf club, who can allow whomever they want as members.

Frankly, for security's sake, I wouldn't want strangers wandering around open lockers in the locker room after the game.

Frankly, if I were an athlete, I'd demand that locker rooms be off limits to everyone but team members and staff.

You don't see reporters barging into performers' dressing rooms after shows and concerts.

You know, some of the best interviews took place in restaurnts, cars, facility entrances and hotel lobbys, none of which require the subject to be naked. No one should be in the locker rooms.
