Japan One Month After The Earthquake

It's hard to imagine that it's been a full month since a 9.0 magnitude earthquake rocked Japan, leaving behind a trail of destruction from which the country has not recovered.

As the nation continues to try to recover from the devastating earthquake and ensuing tsunami, over 13,000 people have been reported killed. Over 14,000 remain missing.

In all, over 125,000 buildings were destroyed or damaged, and following the quake 4.4 million homes were left without power and 1.5 million were left without water. Just two weeks ago, over 200,000 homes were still without power.

Aftershocks have continued to plague the country since the initial disaster.

In addition, trouble began at the Fukushima nuclear plant and radiation spread to the surrounding area. The reactors still have not come under control, and a month later the evacuation zone continues to widen.

The slideshow below provides a more comprehensive look at what has happened in Japan, and what still needs to be done.
