'The Perfect Host': David Hyde Pierce Goes Nuts In New Film

First Posted: 04/12/11 08:25 AM ET Updated: 06/12/11 06:12 AM ET

It's the Niles Crane you had always secretly hoped would bust out.

David Hyde Pierce stars in the upcoming crime-comedy, "The Perfect Host," as Warwick Wilson, a seemingly well-to-do, uptight suburban man set to be victimized by John Taylor, a criminal seeking refuge for the night. Except Warwick has a dinner party to throw that night, and instead of playing hostage, he decides to play host -- and hostage taker.

It's a fun trailer with a good mix of comedy, outrageousness, smart interplay and very dark undertones. Crayne Crawford co-stars as John Taylor, the most unlucky criminal this side of Bonnie & Clyde.

"Insane." "Crazy." "Nuts." Hey, nobody's going to accuse Huffington Post of being PC.

Wonderful idea to carry on the Hannibal Lecter theme.

Wow...I've never seen him in a movie. It looks pretty good. Definately gonna have to check it out when it comes to OD.

Niles was the only reason I looked at "Frazier"...not saying the rest of the cast wan't funny...but Niles was hilarious.

I love both actors so I can see why you've think a Spacey/Pierce combo would be fab, but they both have the exact same vibe. They'd end up fighting each other on screen to be the witty, urban, slightly off kilter one.

I saw him in Spamalot on Broadway, he was great. I miss Frasier, Niles always cracked me up, David is wonderful and I'd love to see him on tv more.

Ever seen his stand up? He's insanely underrated.

Oh man, that's so cool. I'm glad ya got to see him and the whole production.

Two great things at one time. A Monty Python production and David Hyde Pierce. No problem there!
