Was Joe Biden Sleeping During Obama's Speech? (VIDEO)

Did Vice President Joe Biden fall asleep while President Barack Obama delivered a speech on his administration's plans for tackling the national debt on Wednesday?

ABC News released video of Biden attending the event held at George Washington University early in the afternoon. In the clip, the vice president appears to doze off while the president is speaking on the financial issue.

National Journal notes that if Biden did in fact nod off during the president's remarks, it seems that he wouldn't be the first member of the Obama administration to do so. In 2009, then-chief economics adviser to the president, Larry Summers, was caught snoozing in a picture taken by a Getty photographer during a meeting on the economic crisis.

Scientific studies have shown results consistent with observations that we do our best thinking with our eyes closed, so this photo is consistent with ideology that Joe must be Mensa material. He is a brilliant man simply using this scientific data collected to increase his already magnificent brain power. Give Joe Joe a break already!

I actually get a bigger kick out of watching the people around him dozing off as well, esp the lady who looks like she is using Biden's neck as a head rest

I love Joe Biden, as a great public servant, as a beautiful family man, as a bright and highly-experienced office holder. I've seen his schedule and am amazed at what he does as VP.

He's a good man and one of our best politicians. I love Biden.

Joe Biden is my favorite person in American politics. I disagree with him on almost every issue, but he reminds me of my dad or my uncle. He seems like a sincere, friendly guy. He is someone I would enjoy meeting for a beer. He is a total contrast to Barack Obama who seems like the most narcissistic person in politics. His total narcissium was proven when he gave the Queen on England an iPod containing his speeches. I would rather have oral surgery than spend any time with Obama.

This is part of Obamacare. Instead of treating insomnia with costly medications, the patient will be give a CD with Obama's speeches.

Nope,I dont think he takes a nap, but he acts like a process of meditating while he's listening sth from someone speeking and think about contemplate the problem from all sides.He is a nice man who tries to have in mind as an intention during Mr.President's speech at this time.

If he was dozing off, I have no problem with. The truth is I don't know how these guys do it. The job is brutal. They have to be exhausted. He's not a young man and he's been serving our country for over 37 years. We know he works hard, cares deeply about the issues, and knows them as well as anyone we've had since the late Edward Kennedy. I'm sure the President understands.

Didn't look like it here.
He did the same thing at the Arizona Memorial.
He shuts his eyes for a few seconds and opens them....
Give the man break.

Sure - I know that nod all too well myself. So what. Give him a break, he probably read the speech ahead of time and he's no spring chicken.

Everyone thinks its so cute that Nancy had to prod Reagan along while he was giving a speech and Bush could not even give a coherant speech when fully awake.
