Sarah Palin Going To Wisconsin To Rally Tea Party Supporters

First Posted: 04/14/11 04:01 PM ET Updated: 06/14/11 06:12 AM ET

WASHINGTON -- Sarah Palin is heading to Wisconsin this weekend to address a Tea Party rally at the state Capitol, a site that has more recently hosted thousands of labor protesters speaking out against Gov. Scott Walker (R).

The Tea Party gathering will be held on Saturday, two days before this year's tax day. The event is being organized by Americans for Prosperity. Palin aide Rebecca Mansour confirmed on Twitter that the former Alaska governor will be in attendance.

While running for governor, Walker actively courted Palin's endorsement. She more recently has inserted herself into Wisconsin's politics by endorsing conservative incumbent David Prosser in the heated state Supreme Court race.

In February, she posted a message to her Facebook page addressed to her "union brothers and sisters," saying "real solidarity means everyone being willing to sacrifice."

During a Tea Party gathering on Feb. 19 in Madison, one of the most persistent rumors around town was that Palin would be showing up and addressing the crowd. Labor activists, not surprisingly, told The Huffington Post that they were worried the rumors were true, while Tea Partiers were excitedly holding out hope. While all that talk ended up being nothing more than rumors, it's likely that her appearance this weekend will draw out similarly polarized crowds.

Wisconsin Democratic Party Chair Mike Tate immediately sent out a statement criticizing both Palin and Walker.

"She was an early supporter of Scott Walker's and so it makes sense that Sarah Palin would come to Wisconsin to celebrate Scott Walker's war against its working families," said Tate. "Equally divisive and equally hungry for attention, the two make a perfect pair of poster children for a bizarre social agenda, diminished Wisconsin standards, a hostility to education and lower wages and benefits for Wisconsin families."

"The question now becomes, Do the eight Republican senators facing recall election stand with Sarah Palin as she lavishes praise over the Scott Walker union-busting, anti-family agenda?"

Sarah's going to Wisconsin to rally Democrats. Isn't that sweet of her? She's nothing if  "not" thoughtful, isn't she? ;-)

Or as Sara Jones at Politicususa put it:

"Sarah Palin is being sent to Wisconsin by the Tea Party in a desperate attempt to get more than 200 people for a pro-Walker, anti-union rally. Freedom Works (Koch brothers) last attempt to bus in bodies  Read More...

Sarah Palin always acting like she is one of the masses, telling anyone that listens how she is just a average Mom type. Telling all of us we have to make sacrifices, while she lives in a mansion In Alaska, and all, because she will say, outrageous things , true or not , she is paid large sums of money. It is like entertainment for the Masses.
Yeah! she is sacrificing for her patriotism, poor thing. We should all be so lucky.
I give her credit for one thing, she is an opportunist. She jumps on any bandwagon.
So, Scott is no surprise. Where is her sacrifice?
I think the more she shows herself the more people will see her for what she is about.
It has always been MONEY... Plus! she loves the grandstand. Wonder how her family feels after all these years of ego building with great travel benefits.
Sarah,Tell us again how you are one of Us.
Do you all have Millions in the bank?
It is funny the old saying,' talk is cheap,' it has had a big payoff for her.
The fact that she supports the take over of the Government by Scott shows she is not for the people. People like Scott need to be recalled. They are not the voice of the people.

Just because the Republicans have sacrificed you to the media doesn't mean unions need to be destroyed as well, Sarah. Somewhere there is a rock large enough to hide your shame-- just not large enough to fit in your mouth and stop the pain of everyone forced to listen to you.

I could hardly stand to listen to her. Fortunately, you didn't have to get very far away before her voice was drowned out by the pro-union ralliers. Palin supporters were outnumbered 3 to 1. Seems like, as time goes on, her voice sounds more and more like the Wicked Witch of the West. I have a feeling that as she grows older, she look more and more like her, too. ;-)

Green with the dye of all her money, unfortunately. She's a joke, but she's a well paid joke. You can't get a decent wage for an intelligent, hard working person, but Sarah Palin can live like a king for the drivel that comes out of her mouth. What a truly cruel world this is.

Your right they didn't,,lot of union people were given notices to attend to protest against the barracuda but alot of them didn't go...She wasn't worth it...Faux refuses to acknowledge the fact the Tea Party just isn’t much of a draw.

The Koch Brothers sent in Sarah Palin to defend their best boy Scott Walker, and all they got for their money were some tired old platitudes about union thugs, Obama’s budget, and the usual grouchy Sarah Palin laundry list of gripes that 75% of America has long since tuned out. Forget being a presidential candidate, Sarah Palin isn’t even a decent headliner.

I love free speech....just don;t like the lies mixed in..which is what comes out of Sarah Palin's mouth on a regular basis. Civil discourse is wonderful, and the American way, just can't get past the lies and liars that are represented by your party Have a great day!

Because of "union thugs" you have safer working conditions, what used to be a fair and good wage for a day's work and the weekend. If you don't enjoy these human rights, then maybe you should join one! I suspect you will continue to bend over and take one for the team and then, when the hard working union members of this country and those that believe in the union work ethic, bring back this country, You will reap the benefits. There is nothing sadder in life than ignorance..I feel for you...

And a big belly flop it was. 6,500 people (estimated by the police) and the bulk of them were people there to protest her. 13 buses provided to bring in her supporters - they weren't needed. And she quit after 15 minutes.(Of course she did.)

But here's the thing that was revealed. She tossed a lot of word salad about how Walker was actually good for unions and had spoken of her union brothers and sisters she was there to inform of blah blah blah....

Joe McGinnis who's writing the book about the Rogue due this September was curious about the union sisterhood thing. It had not really been part of the detail he'd learned about her (he's still working on the book). And it seems it turns out to be like everything with Palin: scratch one of her bravado claims and you'll find out that's it either a lie or so barely true that it might as well be. He found out:

"Turns out that Vince Beltrami, president of Alaska AFL-CIO, already wrote about those glory days–on Feb. 19,in the Anchorage Daily News.

Beltrami was irked by the “utter hypocrisy” of Sarah urging (via Facebook) her “union brothers and sisters” to oppose the protests against Wisconsin Gov. Walker’s signing into law a bill that stripped public employees of union rights.

He wrote, “She belonged to my union, the IBEW, for about a minute, over twenty years ago, one summer, in a temporary position.”

Now, again, she claims a link with organized labor by saying she’s “a former union member?”

Who does she think she’s kidding?" - Joe McGinnis

Apparently Wisconsin fooled by the fraud. Today she got booed. Music to my ears.
