GOP 2012 Potential Candidates Vary On Foreign Policy

When it comes to Americans and presidential polls, foreign policy issues have played a notoriously diminished role. Midterm election results reportedly found that a mere eight percent of voters saw foreign policy as a voting issue, the lowest registration of international concerns since before 9/11.

Still, with Egypt, Libya and North Korea dominating the international headlines, the records of most potential GOP presidential nominees are once again being called into question. Possible candidates such as Newt Gingrich and Tim Pawlenty have publicly panned the Obama Administration's foreign policy, and while Sarah Palin's lack of foreign experience became a "Saturday Night Live" punchline in 2008, rumored hopeful Jon Huntsman has recently stepped down from an Obama-appointed post as U.S. Ambassador to China.
