Taco Bell Asks For Apology After Beef Lawsuit Dropped

04/20/11 02:20 PM ET   AP

Slashfood:

Love may mean never having to say you're sorry, as the old Love Story theme goes, but lawsuits are another thing. Taco Bell would like an apology from the folks who brought (and then withdrew) the lawsuit against them that claimed their meat mixture was less than 35 percent beef.

Regardless of how you feel about Taco Bell , they need to go after the people who filed the suit.

Fast food is abhorrent, Taco Hell is one of the worst offenders. Would it kill them to serve simple fresh ingredients instead of weird gunk?

Don't worry. I already left them a Taco Bell present. Once digested.

This alone makes me not want to give my money to Taco Bell.

We should just ship free tacos to Al Qaeda and bring our boys home.

Saying "sorry" probably won't kill anyone but Taco Bell "food" certainly will.

The reason the lawsuit was launched in the first place was because an independent lab tested a random taco and it said only 35% of was actual beef. I don't know why the lawsuit was dropped but the only people who own an actual apology is Taco Bell for not closing the place where that taco came from.

I think Taco Bell has great advertising. I'm not even a fan and I hate commercials but I do find myself laughing at theirs and if I was trying to move on from a damaging lawsuit like this one I'd probably do ads just like that.

everyone focuses on Taco Bell, but hey...most all fast food is altered and "filled" with other food stretchers and enhancers. why single them out? i will bet that the suit that was dropped was connected indirectly with another fast food chain.

Hey, Taco Bell--maybe you should just leave it alone, huh? You're the ones keeping this going, and keeping it in the news. If a public apology is so important to you, that could have been negotiated at the time the suit was withdrawn.

And another thing - quit introducing a new "product" every other week. We don't need triple-decker-stuffed frito-grilled-cheesy delights - ever heard of "core competancies"? Just make tacos & burritos, but learn how to make them with higher-quality ingredients!
