Strong Quake Hits Off Japanese Coast, Reportedly Shaking Buildings In Tokyo

TOKYO, April 21 (Reuters) - An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.3 hit eastern Japan on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

Japan's Meteorological Agency said no tsunami warning was issued. The epicentre of the earthquake, which shook buildings in Tokyo, was at Chiba prefecture, near the coast east of the capital, the agency added.
