Prince William & Kate Middleton Visit Diana's Grave: Report

Prince William & Kate Visit Diana's Tomb

Prince William and Kate Middleton reportedly visited Princess Diana's tomb this week, the Daily Mirror writes.

Diana was buried at the Althorp Estate on the tiny Oval Island 14 years ago. The royal couple was seen holding hands on the grounds and leaving flowers.

A source told the Mirror, "It was very important for William to take Kate to visit his mum just before their wedding day....It is tragic that she won't be there to see the wedding, and that she never got to meet his bride. But even though Kate never met Diana she knows what an incredible woman she was and it is very important to her to be able to share and understand William's love and grief for his mum."

William previously spoke about presenting Kate with the sapphire and diamond ring Prince Charles first gave his mom in 1981. He said, "It's my mother's engagement ring, so I thought it was quite nice because, obviously, she's not going to be around to share any of the fun and excitement of it all. This was my way of keeping her close to it all."

Last month, Prince Harry told "Good Morning America" that he'd be keeping his mom in mind during the nuptials, remarking, "There will be myself, my brother and my father, there will be all sorts of people, the rest of the family that will be, no doubt, thinking about it. Hopefully, you know, she'd be very, very proud that the big day has come. We all thought that it was never going to happen for him."
