Naked Golfers Want A Course Of Their Own

Naked Golfers

France is known for fine food, high fashion and great wines, but, now, an 18-hole clothing-is-not-an-option golf course is giving America's naked golfers a real reason to be envious.

La Jenny Naturist Course, on France's west coastline, is the only golf course in the world where nudity is not only allowed but a must.

The 22-acre course has only six holes, but they include four par 3 holes and two par 4 holes and a water hazard. There's also a large putting green and a golf pro ready to show guests how to swing that club.

There are a few rules that aren't found at other courses.

According to Oddity Central, golfers must remove all clothes before walking on the course and they are only allowed to take photos of their family and friends. Oh, and any kind of sexual activity on the course is a "non non."

La Jenny is the only course of its kind in Europe, which makes it popular on the continent.

It also makes golfers like Susan Weaver jealous.

Weaver is the president of the American Association of Nude Recreation and she wishes there were more nude golf courses in the U.S.

"I don't know of any full 18-hole golf courses in the U.S.," Weaver told AOL Weird News. "There are two nude courses that I know of -- one in Willamette, Ore., and one in Kissimmee, Fla. -- but they're both chip-and-putt."

Weaver says there are a lot of nudists who like to golf and is hoping to convince a real course to at least hold a clothing optional tournament.

"We have people working on it," she said, adding that the charity element might help make the idea more feasible.

She has a point, since nudists are the type of people who will gladly give someone the shirt off their backs.

"We'd also like to convince courses to set aside one day a week for nudists," she said, hopefully.

But Ted Hadley, who runs Cypress Cove Nudist Resort in Kissimmee, Fla., which has a 9-hole chip-and-putt course, admits getting a full-time 18-hole course for nudists may not be financially possible.

"A lot of nudists are golfers, but a full golf course is expensive," he said. "You need a steady group of regulars to pay the greens fees."

He also admits the clothing-optional aspect of nude golfing limits what might be sold at a pro shop since golf shirts and pants aren't a necessity.

There may be something else inhibiting the popularity of nude golfing in America: The nudists themselves.

Angye Smits Fox loves golfing and loves nudity, but doesn't find the idea of combining her two great passions very appealing.

"I'm an avid golfer playing several times a week, plus, I'm a nudist," she said. "But if I didn't have my large tatas snuggled in tight with a heavy-duty sports bra while I tee it up, I'd be in big trouble.

"Golfing in the nude is not appealing to me. The only advantage to nude golf would be the all-over tan as opposed to the 'golfer's tan' I get when I hit the links. But my handicap would surely go up if I couldn't strap in the girls."

How horrible that anyone should be seen without clothes. The shame of it all.

So far, a lot of dumb comments from ignorant people. Playing golf, running, swimming, playing tennis....all great fun to do nude. Great for your tan, you don't have to own those ugly "golf clothes", and no laundry to do at the end of the day. I run 10 miles every few weeks nude...and its not a problem. Remember, human males spent a few million years without underwear...chasing Mammoths. You don't need to run.
For the lady who wants to restrain the "girls" while golfing...so wear a sports bra while playing. Lots of women runners do the same thing...and then strip it off the moment the race is over.

If you haven't tried sports in the nude...go a a local nude resort and give it a try. Most people, after the first 20 minutes, forget the nudity...and have a great time. The hardest part is getting dressed at the end of the day. You only live once...enjoy it.

Cypress Cove is literally right up the street from me. In a previous job I got called to go there to do an estimate on a job. I was new to the position, so I asked my new boss to go along with me to help. He followed me onto the property and within a few short moments started noticing that everybody was walking around naked. When we got out of our vehicles, he exclaimed, "WTF, man, you didn't tell me everyone here would be naked!" "It must have slipped my mind," I said. We approached the house we were to check out and knocked, a light bulb suddenly came on: "Hay, is this guy going to answer the door naked?" he asked. "Probably," I said. The owner answered fully clothed though, to my boss' relief and my disappointment. Funniest sales call I've ever made.

By the way, my parents live near Cypress Cove as well, and have several friends who golf there regularly and are always asking my Dad to play. He always turns them down, though.

Is it still a 2-stroke penalty if you put one in the bush and have to take a lay?

I understand use of the ball washer is advised between holes.

This is almost too easy.....

And then there's the problem of lost balls...
Loose handgrips on the shafts....
Bushes in the middle of the fairway....
And that lower center of gravity could really mess up a girls backswing....
