Arapahoe Basin, Loveland Remain Open For Skiing

Ski Report: Just Two Resorts Left Open After This Weekend

Warmer temperatures in Colorado have the 2010-2011 ski season wrapping up, but two will remain open after this weekend.

Loveland doesn't plan to close until May 8 and Arapahoe Basin is holding out for June 5. Both resorts have reported receiving between 4 and 6 inches of fresh snow in the past 24 hours.

Echo Mountain outside Denver had planned to stay open until May 1, but the 5-year-old resort had its earliest closing ever on April 17.

"With it being so warm in Denver, a lot of skiers decided to start playing golf and tennis instead," owner Jerry Petitt said.

Most of the remaining resorts will be closing this week including Copper Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Winter Park, Vail and Breckenridge.
