Obama Birth Certificate: Jon Stewart Mocks Trump, The Media's Reaction (VIDEO)

Jon Stewart Birth Certificate

Now that President Obama has released his long-form birth certificate, it looks like the "Birther" movement Jon Stewart has been mocking since its inception finally has to stop. But as we witnessed Wednesday, not before a thorough media frenzy covers the "bombshell" that was the White House realeasing the document.

On Wednesday night's "Daily Show," Stewart mocked all the mainstream media outlets for using words like "stunning, shocking and surreal" to describe Obama's putting the issue to rest:

"I don't want to nitpick but wouldn't the bombshell have been him not being from America? This one's more of a non-shell."

Stewart mostly focused on the media's overreaction, but got in a few jabs about Obama, like his saying, "I've got better stuff to do" during his adress on the birth certificate before hopping on a jet to do an interview with Oprah. But it was definitely Donald Trump who bore the brunt of Stewart's jokes, especially after his press conference where he took all the credit for the certificate being released. He even went so far as to say that he was "honored" and proud of himself and his "accomplishment."

"Wow, that is the hardest I've ever seen Trump be on himself," Stewart said, later adding, "I pray this man runs for President."

Watch the full segment below and see Stewart's reaction to The Donald artfully dodging questions about his "investigation" in Hawaii, as well as the media's unstoppable speculation on the authenticity of the birth certificate.

OT: But this would make for a great show for you Jon.

The complaint, which was filed with the state Labor Relations Board on April 14, takes issue with the chief arresting a man who was allegedly in possession of marijuana because the chief is not a member of the collective bargaining unit and was “off duty” when the March 20 arrest was made.

Texas Birther Rep.: More Study Needed
"The birther hysteria won't go away because in many ways the birther movement really isn't about the birth certificate. The birth certificate was a sort of gateway drug, but the good stuff, the really good stuff, came much deeper down the WorldNetDaily rabbit hole—Faith2Action's Janet Porter, for instance, trumpeted the idea that President Obama is (or was) a Soviet spy. That would explain, for example, how he got into such good schools despite being, as Donald Trump and Berman have alleged, a total dunce. "

We dont wanna talk about this birther issue, we really dont wanna mention it in every Godforsaken sentence that comes out of our mouths. As a matter of fact, we gonna have a series where we do nothing but discuss why we aint gonna talk about it no more.........etc etc

Seriously guys, the standard forAmerican journalism is so low now that ordinary Americans cannot even fathom what real news coverage looks and sounds like - until they broaden their horizons and move to places in the world that have it (UK for example where the BBC funded by taxpayers money trailblazes with outstanding coverage, intelligent analyses, mindblowing documentaries and authentic public issues like consumer protection - without a single commercial to boot!!!)

I would like to take a moment to thank all the extreme right wing Repubs and tea partiers for all the laughs you've given us over the past two and a half years. Comic relief in times of economic uncertainty is priceless.

Disappointed in HP, this skit was great but, I wish HP would also write an article of the JS interview of Warren about the Consumer Protection or William Cohan talking about Goldman Sachs, both excellent interviews.

Jon Stewart pretends that the people attending town hall meetings now are the same people that complained about Obama Care last year.

No, they are not! FALSE EQUIVALENCE.

For those people who were demanding Obama's birth certificate and then talking with a straight face (don't know how the birthers held up) that is NOT r@cist. They are lying, plain and simple. Not one sitting President EVER gone to the conspiracy theory such as this. Not G.W. Bush, not Clinton, not Bush Sr., not Reagan, not even the previous 40 presidents. Why the especial focus on Obama? The right may deny it, but the issue of the birth certificate, birther laws, talking in codes about where he was born has EVERYTHING to do with r@ce. I challenge anyone to tell me otherwise.
04:49 PM on 04/29/2011
You are exactly right. But many whites can't face the reality of calling them out on this absolute truth so they will pretend, they can't tell what color he is.
07:46 PM on 04/29/2011
I think its safe to say that bush Probably got the worst conspiracy theory with everyone claiming he had is hand in the 9/11 trajedy. Or is that conspiracy?....hmmm.

I think that these people (tea baggers, birthers, conservatives, and Idiots like trump) are fustrated on the fact that they really cannot find a SOLID!! LOGICAL!! LEGITIMATE!! reason why Obama should not be in office, so they run with these petty CHILDISH!! SCARETACTICS!! Definitely a racial issue.....hands down.

try www.rigint.blogspot.com and check out the 9/11 section. you will be much less apt to write it off as a "conspiracy". esp. the coincidence theory of 9/11

But last night he went too far, mocking those who see racism in this affair. Not a damn bit funny.
