Beyonce: New Video To Fight Childhood Obesity

Beyonce Boogies To Fight Childhood Obesity

First she belted one out for the inauguration, now she's boogying for the first lady. Pop superstar Beyonce has dropped a new music video in support of Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" campaign. In it, she bounds into a school cafeteria in knee high socks and stilettos to lead a group of kids through a high-energy flash workout.

If the song sounds familiar to you, that's because it is a remix of Beyonce's slightly racier "Get Me Bodied." The tune was rewritten with new lyrics encouraging kids to get up and get active. "Mission one let me see you run," the star sings as the choreographed dance kicks off. Later she croons: "A little sweat ain't never hurt nobody."

According to The Washington Post, a White House spokesman said the first lady wasn't directly involved in the making of the video, but added that the superstar is "a great example of how people can get involved...and bring this message to more and more young people."

ABC News reports that Beyonce is just one of several celebs, including Ellen DeGeneres and Scarlett Johansson, who are lending their star power to draw attention to Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" campaign, the goal of which is to solve the problem of obesity in the U.S. within a generation.
