New Facebook Feature Lets You Edit Your Comments (VIDEO)

Have you ever written a comment on Facebook and immediately wished you could modify what you wrote? If you have, then we've got good news for you.

Facebook recently added a feature that lets users edit their own comments.

Say, for example, you write a comment and notice a typo. Instead of deleting the entire comment, Facebook now allows you to re-enter the text and tweak it to your liking.

To perform edits on comments, simply press the "x" icon in the upper-right of the comment box. Previously, this delete button served only to remove comments.

You're only allowed about 10 seconds to catch and fix your mistakes with the comment edit option. Once your time limit has expired, your only option will be to nix the comment.

Furthermore, editing becomes unavailable once another user has commented on the post you wish to edit.

Inside Facebook notes a couple caveats about this new feature. When you comment on someone else's post, Facebook sends to the original poster one email notification with your initial comment and another email with your edited comment. Also, edited comments don't appear in the real-time comment stream viewable to other users; they'll have to refresh their page to see your touched-up words.
