Daphne Guinness Gets Dressed For Met Gala In Barneys' Windows (VIDEO)

The Cut stopped by Barneys before Monday night's Met Gala to watch Daphne Guinness get dressed for the fete in the store's windows, an experience she later called "terrifying" on the red carpet.

Guinness previously told the New York Times, "I am not doing a burlesque -- no way. I'm going to be getting dressed behind something. I'm not Dita Von Teese, nor shall I be." She first appeared in some sort of gold ensemble before slipping into her feathered McQueen frock behind a screen.

It looks like quite the crowd turned out for her fashion-meets-art installation. One said, "We're here because we just have a great respect for Alexander McQueen, Daphne Guinness and Isabella Blow," and another explained, "I've seen who Daphne has modeled for before, I've seen who she's represented and I do like some of the things that she has worn. And I think it would be great inspiration for some of my art pieces when I create them." She emerged to uproarious applause, as seen in the video.
