Paul Rigby, 33, married Emily Horne when she was on leave from the Royal Irish Regiment in December 1996.
The couple lost touch when he was posted away and they separated but never divorced.
Horne, a former glamour model, went on to marry three other men before being jailed for bigamy for six months in 2004.
