RIM just launched its 7-inch BlackBerry PlayBook tablet in April, and already rumors are swirling about a successor.
Boy Genius Report writes that “multiple sources” at the BlackBerry World 2011 conference have said that RIM plans to release a larger PlayBook tablet later this year.
A so-called “PlayBook 2” may feature a 10-inch screen and could be ready “by the holidays,” said tipsters.
A plus-sized PlayBook may even pick up some of the slack left by the original. Writes BGR, “[A] bigger version of the tablet along with an update OS that includes an email client, BBM and more could really hit the sweet spot."
RIM is set to release 4G versions of its original PlayBook this summer, but BGR's sources did not say whether the 10-inch PlayBook would feature a 4G option.
