Prince William & Kate To Visit California In July

LONDON -- Wills and Kate are heading west, off to California in July.

Prince William and his wife, the former Kate Middleton, will be in the state for three days starting July 8 after their official tour of Canada, the prince's office announced Thursday.

The palace did not provide details of their itinerary.

The trip will be William's first official trip to the United States and Kate's first-ever visit to the country.

The royal couple – now known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – married last week at Westminster Abbey in a ceremony seen around the world. After a long weekend in private, they have returned to the remote island of Anglesey in Wales, where William is based as a Royal Air Force search-and-rescue helicopter pilot, putting off a honeymoon for now.

They start their weeklong tour of Canada on June 30, visiting Ottawa, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Alberta and the Northwest Territories, including a trip to the Arctic.

Its exciting to have a new young couple in the palace and I can't wait to see what is ahead. My only criticism is that Kate's style boarders a bit on the plain Jane. Maybe in time, like her deceased mother in law she will gain more style.

one newspaper states she will use her fame for the good cause,only good cause before marriage was to hide her deciet in marrying william. now she married she doesn't have the royal set up ,income or royal position in life to be a royal monarchy,beside not being royal in the first place what was she hoping for, becuase fairytale princess are always born royal blue blood ,not workingclass dear.

another news someone was selling consort kate middle plastic tiara she wore on weddingday, the replication had more value but i didn't see a tiara, i saw a ring of tiny flower in hair since she isn't royalty, i guess pr wants to use every formation to make money of consort kate middleton because she is married to a former prince and soon to be plain william of clarence with all the removal of prevous titles oned held for his new life with trash hooker kate middleton,the comparision to wallace simpson is exactly right for this soon to be 30 year old woman.It's sad a man like william couldn't find a royal woman to wed to bring his marriage the news media his country is looking for, i mean kate is soo workingclass comman like american proverty middleclass partying, trying to get ahead in life.She is not with a real thought or granduer approach to be amoung them, she is definately low class and value of beneath that point.

you know i like the comments that i read in this sections were they don't fall for the bull pr of monarchy trying not to let subjects know they got they royal boot and trying to use the media to gain acceptances to a pressure treatment to the crown to allow their unroyal union to be a monarchy marriage...so far nobody on comment line is falling for the bull faux british pr or american pr system is say about royals.

william and charles has shown weak leadership ability ,by not bring home valor woman of the crown to wed,instead they bring hooker trash woman for which they are about to divioce causing more finances to the taxpayer.thus the laws stand firm and will not consent to workingclass to monarchy union ,and will not consent workingclass to be monarchy title,or honor in rights to the crown.

I find something nice in all places I visit. There's only one thing that would keep me from visiting again, and that is the food. I must like the food, or it will the the first and last time I visit!

Now I wouldn't mind visiting Timbuktu!

I think William and Kate will enjoy California very much.

As a native Californian I will be proud to have this young couple visit our state. It is one of the most diverse areas in the world....both culturally and environmentally. I would suggest Yosemite, Big Sur, the Bay Area, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Simeon, the High Sierras, the North Coast. Heck....the entire state is worth recommending!

This state has something for everyone and its beauty is breathtaking. Welcome......

i would normally agree with you, my friend, but perhaps my cynicism regarding the human animal is getting the better of me.  california is a wonderful state, and its natural beauty covers a broad spectrum.

the amount of unbelievable h ate, vicio  usness, st upidity and ignorance the marriage of these two people who have worked very hard to do the right thing to a fault with regard to their public lives, is just absolutely mind boggling.  these threads may as well have been a meeting of any right wing h ate group in america.

i'm no longer so sure that visiting a place that is fast becoming the world's largest open air asylum is such a good idea.  the last thing they need is for some of this blind, unfounded ha te to rub off on them.

Remember folks unelected heads of state are only bad if they are the M word - also one wonders how UK tourism will survive - don't tourists usually come to see them - so I presume in the week or so that they are away per the Roylists theories - no one will be visiting the UK.

I once spent a whole two days in California.

Seemed like a nice place -- although maybe Anaheim (Disneyland) isn't typical ...... ?

Still, Kate's going for 3 days -- so she'll get to see a whole lot more .... ;-)
