Malik Obama's 'Barack H. Obama Foundation' Raises Questions

A charity organization founded by President Barack Obama's half brother is raising eyebrows, prompting one watchdog group to file a request for an official investigation.

The National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC) has asked the IRS to investigate the Barack H. Obama Foundation, which collects donations in Kenya and Virginia, the New York Post reports.

Abon'go Malik "Roy" Obama started the Barack H. Obama Foundation, named after the father he and the president share, in 2008. According to the website, the mission of the organization is to provide development programs for impoverished Kenyans. However, there is little evidence of what the charity has actually accomplished -- and the organization's finances have been kept under wraps.

The foundation never filed for tax-exempt status in the United States and didn't have permission to be collecting donations in Virginia.

Alton Ray Baysden, a former government employee whose home the charity was started in, claims the foundation is still trying to get organized.

He told the Post:

"We haven't been able to find someone with the expertise to do this. We are informally scouting for an executive director, someone who knows how to register the charity."

While a formal IRS investigation hasn't yet begun, the NLPC has released a list of six questions they say need to be answered.

The questions include:

How much money was raised since the Barack H. Obama Foundation began soliciting public donations? Were the funds collected ever used for charitable purposes or were they diverted to personal use by anyone associated with the Obama Foundation?

the bank bail out was on bushes watch; but you knew that, but repugs are famous for rewriting history.
also, Pres. Obama never lived with this half brother and he did not help set this charity up. He unfortunately has various relatives by blood, who he mostly met as adults and under limited amounts of time. The president shouldn't be blamed for things relatives do anymore than we should be blamed for something one of our relatives, that we have no control of .

The President's half brother is trying to raise money by using the President's name; the "father" was not a well received person in Kenya and barely known/heard of in the USA until his State Congressman-then-U.S. Senator son became President, so why would the half brother think he could raise money by naming a foundation after their "shared", absentia father?

Then there's the GOPbaggers, looking for ANYTHING to focus negatively against President Obama going into the 2012 election campaign cycle.

President Obama shared a father with a half-sister who has a Ph.D, and she is WORKING and living very well with her husband, I believe somewhere in England.

He has a half-brother by that same father, who teaches music and has written a book, WORKING and living very well with his wife in Hong Kong.

Half-brother, Malik, who started the charity of subject, was also the best-man in the President's and First Lady's wedding.

Then there's George, the half-brother who lives in a hut in Kenya the way the average Kenyan lives.

Although all of the above, and several not mentioned, shared a father with the President. End of story.
