O'Reilly Defends Trump From Paper That Called Him Racist

Bill O'Reilly defended Donald Trump from accusations of racism in an interview with Mort Zuckerman, owner of the New York Daily News.

The newspaper ran a negative editorial about Trump and put a picture of him on its website with the words "birther" and "racist" next to it. The charge is one that has been repeatedly made against Trump in recent weeks, and the real estate mogul has even responded to the criticism.

Zuckerman has also recently feuded with Trump after Trump claimed to have "saved" the Daily News some years ago.

O'Reilly called the website photo illustration "very nasty," and said, "I don't think the racist stuff did the New York Daily News any good at all." He said he had known Trump for years and never seen a hint of racism from him. Zuckerman said Trump was, at the very least, playing into the hands of racists by diving so enthusiastically into birtherism.

"Why would this man not be believed when everyone else was?" he said, referring to Obama. "I don't think it's a skin color issue, Mort," O'Reilly responded, though he agreed that the issue was "nonsense."
