Chinese Grandma Dances To Michael Jackson: China's Got Talent's Bai Shuying (VIDEO)

First Posted: 05/10/11 09:50 AM ET Updated: 07/10/11 06:12 AM ET

Michael Jackson is alive and well. His talent, it seems, has found a new home: within 65-year old Bai Shuying.

The grandmother wowed the judges of "China's Got Talent" with her agile and energetic dance moves, busting all sorts of other MJ-style steps to a medley of beats that included "Beat It" and "Dangerous." She even had the King of Pop's trademark white shirt, black pants and high stretched white socks..

Whether she wins the competition or not, Bai Shuying is certain to take home the title for most viral audition video.

Here is a rough translation:

Bai: My name is Bai Shuying. I come from Beijing. I used to be a quality inspector or areo-space industry. Now dancing is an important part of my life. Every moment I want to wear my dance shoes, to show off my dance and my beauty.
Young man: Go, get them. (Facing the camera): how full of life.
Bai: (on stage) Now that I am on this stage I will give my 200% effort.
Judge A (stern man): How old are you?
Bai: I am 65 years old.
Judge A: 65? We are so delighted to see you. What are you going to bring us today?
Bai: perform dancing
Judge A: Please start.
Judge A: Auntie, if Michael has his spirit lingering around he would be happy.
Judge B (the pretty): You are so youthful…tears fill my eyes. Auntie, Michael’s important dancing features that our generation can remember, you have demonstrated them all to the point. How did you learn the dances? Do you have a teacher?
Bai: I bought some tapes/DVDs and learned from watching them.
Judge B: You learned through yourself!
Bai: Yes.
Judge B: Auntie, how come you become to love Michael Jackson?
Bai: I thought the dances are so beautiful…and so moving….so full of strength.
Judge A: She is still not exhausted, still jumping.

Cont…

Judge C (the average Joe): If I danced like you did I would have been sent to hospital in the middle. How long have you learned?
Bai: I have not learned Michael’s dance that long. I love the street dances (someone mentioned hip-hop among the commotion).
Judge B: Do you have a grandson? Does he dance with you?
Bai: He loves dancing. We watch the videos together. You know what I call my grandson?
Judge B: What?
Bai: Michael (big applause)
Judge B: (turning to Judge C). Yes, or no? She also got the street dance.
Judge C: YES.
Judge B: Grandma Bai, just to watch your street dance, you can bring your grandson with you next time. YES.
Judege A: For the physical endurance you demonstrated through your dance, I am giving you a YES. Congratulations, auntie. You made it.
Judge A: (back to the camera) Think about it, how many old men would have been shocked by this auntie?
Judge B: Grandma makes me feel life is so beautiful.
Bai (in the end): Michael Jackson makes me feel youthful and full of life. Life is good.

I agree. It is the "get talent" show...and it is all for a light-hearted laugh.

I can't believe this show is on in China! It's exactly like here. Do the originators of this show get a cut from this? Are we that in sync with them? I thought there was animosity between the 2 countries.

This show is franchised from England, where the original began. Countries all over the world now have their version of "Got Talent."

Michael would appreciate her effort I think as well as take pleasure in her acknowledgement of him, she quite obviously practices and to all those who are judging her as you would a professional dancer at age 30 grow the H up and see it for what it is, then go ask your grandma to do it, now see the damn difference?
