Karl Rove Weighs In On Donald Trump's Poll Collapse (VIDEO)

During an appearance on NBC's "Today" show on Wednesday morning, Karl Rove offered a grim assessment of the possibility Donald Trump could run for president in 2012.

Rove was asked to weigh in on a poll released on Tuesday showing Trump collapsing in a hypothetical Republican primary match-up.

"Well, first, he made his campaign all about an issue which was not at the center of the political debate, namely, the allegation that Barack Obama was somehow not born in the United States," Rove explained. "But I also think observers have made the point, and I agree with it, that his swearing epithet-laden speech in Las Vegas turned off a lot of voters."

It's not the first time Rove has made critical remarks about the prospect of Trump running for president in 2012. Last month, he characterized Trump as a "joke candidate" for repeatedly raising skepticism over the president's birthplace during an appearance on Fox News.
