Art Institute of Pittsburgh Student Killed During Ipad Heroin Trade

Police have arrested two suspects in the murder of Malachi Urbini, an Art Institute of Pittsburgh student, who was killed Sunday after he tried to trade his IPad and his IPod for heroin.

Shilee Dixson was taken in to custody on Tuesday on charges of homicide, robbery, conspiracy and firearms violations. Taivon Lamont Cunningham was arrested on Monday and charged with homicide, robbery and conspiracy.

County police said a witness told them that Mr. Urbini met with Mr. Cunningham, who he knew as "Tay," and traded his iPod for six stamp bags of heroin. Later, in a phone call, the two agreed to meet in Derby Alley so Mr. Urbini could trade his iPad II for 20 stamp bags of heroin. The witness went with Mr. Urbini and saw him walk down the alley, then heard shots fired. Mr. Urbini was found with multiple gunshot wounds to his trunk and later died at Allegheny General Hospital.

“When I heard the news I was just like, ‘Oh my God, no way.’ I didn’t believe it at first,” Tara Marberger, a friend of Urbini's told CBS News. “It’s just a shock. We grew up with this kid. We saw him change from like that person who was so artistic and quiet to that person who was always fun, always happy, always with his friends.”
