Asthma rates are on the rise, with 24.6 million now suffering from the condition, according to a CDC report. That's a 12 percent jump in the last decade.
Asthma specialists across the country are rallying to help, by offering free asthma screenings around the country. The screenings consist of a simple breathing test and a discussion of the results with an allergist. The annual effort is lead by the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) each May as part of National Asthma Awareness Month.
