Bill O'Reilly Challenges Jon Stewart To Debate Over Common (VIDEO)

UPDATE: Jon Stewart has accepted Bill O'Reilly's challenge to debate Common's White House appearance, Fox News announced Friday. Stewart will debate O'Reilly on Monday's "O'Reilly Factor."

ORIGINAL STORY: Bill O'Reilly took exception to Jon Stewart's takedown of Fox News over President Obama's invitation of rapper Common to the White House--and he challenged his high-profile frenemy to come on his show and debate the matter.

O'Reilly is just one of many Fox News anchors to object to Common, saying he supports the killing of police officers and the assassination of George W. Bush. (Both claims are, to put it mildly, debatable.)

Stewart delivered an epic response to the kerfuffle, complete with a rap of his own. On his Thursday show, O'Reilly said Stewart's rant was an "argument that gets us nowhere."

After playing footage of Stewart saying Fox News was spreading lies, O'Reilly said, "no lies here, Jon. and I would like to debate you about the Common situation because it's important."

He said he didn't care about anybody's "dopey" lyrics. "What we do care about," he continued, "is the President of the United States understanding that in this country there are subversives...so with all due respect I think Jon Stewart made a big mistake trying to run down Fox News and defend Common and I look forward to Mr. Stewart coming on the 'Factor' to discuss it."

I do not like rap.(personal choice of music)However ,as a teacher, who is in contact with teens on a daily basis,I am curious enough,to observe THAT NOT ALL RAP is violent with bad lyrics.
As far as Bill Oreilly is concerned,Obama would have the Pope as a guest at the WH,and would somehow,SOMEHOW,find a twisted way of analizing it as something "EVIL".That is what O"Reilly and People at FOX,are all about.Biggots who cannot stand Obama!

I'm shocked that O'Reilly is so concerned about so-called 'subversives' seeing as he'd love nothing more than subvert our current POTUS into electoral oblivion.

He looks forward to John coming on his show to spike his ratings. What a gracious and sincere invite... for a non-topic.

Make sure you have someone on hand to dislodge that popcorn from your throat, since you'll be laughing so much during the debate.

But as long as you're offering, I'd like some Bugles and a case of Diet Pepsi...cause it's gonna be that awesome.

When will Bildo learn his lesson? Jon has smacked him down every time so he must be a glutton for punishment. Which isn't surprising. Those faux noise guys are all deviants.

How can you have a debate when you present edited clips? Jon still beat the brakes off of O'Reilly.

Jon won like I knew he would. And he didn't even have to whip O'Reilly over the head with the fact that his beloved, can-do-no-wrong George W. Bush invited Eazy-E to the White House and there was not a single peep from O'Reilly or anyone else on the right about it, to do it.

I loved it when Jon proved to be the bigger man by suggesting that the two of them do something meaningful about cop-killing in terms of banning assault weapons--which happens to kill more cops daily than any rapper or artist's words and lyrics. No surprise when O'Reilly was anxious to change the subject.

O'Reilly, American's Number One Racial Racketeer, Culture Wars Bully and All-Around Hypocrite, gets his lunch eaten--again. And like that other one with the hairpiece, over-inflated ego, over-worked sense of self importance and delusions of godhood, O'Reilly will never admit to himself how intellectually vacant and morally barren he makes himself look every time he opens his mouth.

How sad/indicative of our society and its entertainment tastes is it that while our country goes down the tube economically and racks up an inordinate amount of debt, the most pressing issue being debated on is whether or not a rapper should be able to visit the White House? This is insanity.
