Katy Perry & Russell Brand Put Their Los Feliz Home On The Market

First Posted: 05/13/11 12:45 PM ET   Updated: 07/13/11 06:12 AM ET

Via LA Times and Realtor.com: Katy Perry and Russell Brand's Los Feliz home has four bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms and is on the market for $3.395 million. The 1922 property is 4,706 square feet on a .36 acre lot, and it has a Mediterranean sensibility, contemporary interiors, and a romanesque outdoor pool (the LA Times called the home "stately"). Other features include an updated kitchen, stone and tile flooring, and french doors that lead to a veranda.

The super classy realtor photos leave us wondering -- where's any trace of bubblegum popstar Katy Perry or her delightfully deviant husband, actor Russell Brand? The historic home, with absolutely no trace of its current owners, makes us long for the garish gorgeousness of Christina Aguilera's manse or the cold, sleek unattainability of Jennifer Aniston bachelorette pad. The LA Times reports that Brand's 25-foot love teepee is still in the yard and Perry's pink vintage fridge is in the kitchen, but neither come with the house.

Yes, let's not add too much personality to real estate. We only want classy bland settings that any conservative with loads of money and no imagination can move into right away.

this house has great bones, although like so many homes of this era, its heart was ripped out during a "remuddling."   the kitchen and bathrooms need to be RESTORED, not destroyed as they have been.  restoration doesn't mean out of date, because a good restoration can both update and preserve.

the grounds needs some color, which can be done with a good landscape design team.   color on the inside can also be easily accomplished, much of it with a RESTORATION.

russell is well known to be a HUGE cat lover, has several of them, so he's definitely got that going for him....   :  )

When did huffpo start running a classifieds section?

I'ld sell it too, even at a loss. Los Feliz is too funky and filthy. If you are going to go funky go to Gothem already. I bet, Katy just waiting to buy in Santa Barbara - Hope Ranch and have her dogs, horses and kids. Russell maybe. Katy the keeper in my book. I wonder if he has got what it takes to manage commitment for the long term with out falling off the wagon some where..

Is Los Feliz too dark and funky for you?

I'd be worried about touching any surfaces that Mr. Brand has touched.

The living room is not special - does not even open to a furnished terrace - and only a garden view from the pool. nice but they can do MUCH better.
01:58 PM on 05/14/2011
They can do better? Only a garden view from the pool? They can do better? They can do better than a mansion on a hill with easily a 100 million worth of designer furniture? With all due respect, there are people living on the streets, in shelters, and in blighted neighborhoods that are completely unsafe. You have very high standards, my friend.

Beautiful but they are taking a loss on it. Lots of property for only 3.5Mil

It says a lot about the celebrities where they live and what they ask for their homes in LA. Compare and contrast this beautiful somewhat modest Los Feliz home and the asking price vs. the ego propping up price of the Jennifer Aniston monstrosity in the Hollywood Hills.

i'd love to know what someone was smoking to think that the pricetag on jen's house was even remotely possible.   that place is a monument to self-indulgence not to mention just hideous.

It looks like a place that they own, but don't spend much, if any time in.

The inside is fixable, but that outside look? What is that? Italianate knee wall meets LA Tragic Redux? Awful.

I agree on the outside but still like the inside. The outside is fixable starting with a ball-bing hammer for all the concrete.

the outside could be easily remedied.  it does seem very lost and out of place.

Seems like the stars move out of their homes every few years. So it seems there is a fair amount of turnover in these areas.
Los Feliz is a beautiful neighborhood..

The house is nice. Im not big on the kitchen table though. The boards on the table look uneven. Doesnt look like they spent much time there anyways...

I agree. The kitchen itself is nice, but that dining area. That table ruins the whole thing.

What an odd coincidence that it's placed right next to the soaring food stamps article. A random order drawing such a stark contrast...interesting. Nice house though.
