Make A Wish Foundation Grants Heart Transplant Patient Wish To Become A Princess

From Patient To Princess: Make A Wish Foundation Gives Girl Royal Treatment

The Make A Wish Foundation gave a girl suffering from a life-threatening heart condition an experience fit for a princess, reports KDVR.

Along with a celebration that featured a grand feast and a horse-and-carriage ride, the governor of Colorado declared May 14, 2011 to be forever known as "Princess Natalie Day".

Natalie Wertz was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, which means that a crucial part of her heart is missing. She's survived a heart transplant, but still has more procedures ahead of her.

Now that her wish has been granted, her father hopes it will give her the strength she needs to get through further treatment.

"I think this does give her confidence. I think this gives her hope and motivation," he said. "I think it will give her, if nothing else, something to remember for a long long time."
