Alligator Caught On Long Island Expressway

A driver cruising along the Long Island Expressway spotted something peculiar.

CBS New York reports that a two-and-a-half foot-long alligator was crawling along the eastbound shoulder in East Yaphank.

Suffolk County police used plastic crates to capture the moody animal. Authorities said the gator was probably a pet that had either been let loose or had escaped.

“This gator is vicious,” chief Roy Gross told NBC New York. “We’re not letting anyone near the gator.”

Authorities are looking for information regarded the owner who abandoned the alligator.
