'Drive': Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan Video Clip Released (WATCH)

Gosling Mulligan

Beyond the tabloid speculation of who spent a late night getting close at an LA club with whom, Hollywood interchanges its stars and starlets in on screen relationships in dizzying regularity, searching for that perfect pair with the ever-elusive on-screen chemistry to become iconic.

Ryan Gosling's dramatic turn in "The Notebook" with Rachel McAdams established him as a veritable star, but didn't necessarily make the two a go-to pair. Carey Mulligan teamed up with Shia LeBeouf for "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps," but the two didn't exactly strike it rich. But as two of the leading stars of their time, critical and mainstream darlings alike, they're both promising puzzle pieces for which studios will continually work to find a snug match.

And now, "Drive." The indie thriller in which Gosling plays a stunt driver and getaway man also functions as a love story, and in this new clip, we see the two meet for the first time. It's got all the elements of a classic Hollywood romance: a chance meeting, a long car ride down an empty road, entrancing music and a lot of awkward smiles.

Does it foreshadow a new on-screen power couple? Let us know in the comments.

not much to go on in this clip, that was clipped mid-scene- an awful thing to do to both of them, and a disservice for fans, and techies alike.
they're both great, bankable actors, and i'm a fan of both. i hope the lag time to get to netflix is less than the normal one year plus. i really prefer watching at home, i'm hard of hearing, need the subtitles. industry just doesn't get that.

carey mulligan is sooooo boring. i don't understand all the overstatements in that piece above. however, gosling is hands down one of the best young actors to come along in a long while. he glues my eyes to the screen. i love everything he does. talk about your overstatements:)

Pound for pound Ryan Gosling is the best young actor in films today. But I think Michelle Williams is a better match for him. This, IMO, is on the strength of two films: Half Nelson and Mammoth.

what are you talking about?? Still the hottest scene is Gosling & McAdams in the hallway getting it on in The Notebook. Plus, I thought they were together for a few years afterwards.

I thought it was Ryan Gosling and Tom Hanks.  Carey's profile is remarkably similar to Hanks'.

Ryan Gosling just has that sexy, charming way about him. He was flawless with Rachel McAdams, so to say that Mulligan is a "snugger" fit is hard to imagine. Will have to check it out.

"Carey Mulligan teamed up with Shia LeBeouf for "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps..."

If she has any brains, she'll take that dog off her resume.
