WATCH: How Will Katie Couric End Her Last Show?

On the final day of her tenure as the anchor of the "CBS Evening News," Katie Couric looked back at some of the ways her predecessors signed off their broadcasts in the final edition of her "Notebook" web series. She mentioned Edward R. Murrow's "Goodnight and good luck," as well as Walter Cronkite's "that's the way it is," but admitted that she'd never be able to top them.

Couric, whose last show is Thursday night, also talked about being the first woman to anchor a network newscast on her own.

"My sign-off won't be in the history book like Walter's, but I'm grateful my sign-on may be," she said. "I have taken the privilege of being the first solo woman anchor seriously."

Watch below to see how Couric decided to sign off on her final broadcast.
