Her Facebook page Kidney Disease & My Tiny Mother soon attracted the attention of Amy Donahue who, after chatting with Kirti's mother Anu via Twitter, became a willing donor. Donahue, who is now good friends with Dwivedis, reportedly told Kirti, "I have two kidneys, you only have only mom. Let's do this."
