Randy Savage Dead: 'Macho Man' Dies In Car Accident (VIDEO)

Legendary wrestler "Macho Man" Randy Savage died on Friday in a car accident near Tampa, Fla., TMZ reports.

According to the accident report, Savage was behind the wheel of his Jeep Wrangler when he may have suffered a "medical event."

Florida Highway Patrol said Savage lost control of his vehicle and collided "head-on with a tree."

Savage's wife was in the vehicle, but survived with with "minor injuries."

"WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of one of the greatest Superstars of his time, Randy Poffo, aka Randy “Macho Man” Savage," Vince McMahon said in a statement. "Poffo was under contract with WWE from 1985 to 1993 and held both the WWE and Intercontinental Championships."

News reports said both Randy and Lynn were wearing their seatbelts but that Randy may have suffered a "medical event" behind the wheel. Brother Lanny and other sources identified the "medical event" as a heart attack. Even though the windshield is intact, hitting the steering wheel can cause enough blunt force trauma to bring on a fatal injury. News said Randy passed away at the hospital so if I was a betting person, I think that's probaby what happened. The heart attack caused the accident but the injuries are what killed him.

What?! The car accident didn't kill him, the heart attack did! He was an old man living in Florida who died from a heart attack, there's no damage to that jeep. The windshield isn't even damaged - clearly, he had a stroke, or a heart attack, or whatever...

The Jeep is a truck that does not have to meet passenger car safety standards. It doesn't look bad because it has no crumple zone and transfers the energy of the crash into the passenger compartment.

My grandfather was a huge wrestling fan. My grandmother's cousin was a wrestler back in the '50's. This guy was one of their favorites.
