A headless and badly decomposed body washed up on the shores of Big Albert's Beach in Amagansett on Sunday, police said.
According to East Hampton Town Police Chief Ed Ecker, the body was discovered by a person walking along a portion of the beach just southeast of the area's well-known Bell Estate.
