Joplin, MO Tornado: Horrifying Video From Inside The Twister

Not many can say they've lived through a deadly tornado like the one that struck Joplin, Missouri on Sunday. Even fewer can come back from the heart of the storm with footage documenting the terror from within.

Words can't describe the frightening experience this video captures, made all the more horrifying by a lack of clear visual footage. It's the audio from inside this disastrous twister that will make your hair stand on end.

YouTube user izelsg, who uploaded the video of the Joplin tornado, wrote this about it:

The video i took while at Fastrip on east 20th street. We huddled in the back of the store until the glass got sucked out , then ran into the walk in storage fridge. Sorry for the lack of visuals but the audio is pretty telling of how intense the storm was. The tornado hits at around 1:20 seconds.

If you want to donate and also receive one of Isaac's songs - go to the link below. He has posted a new video and you can go to the link in the description of said video to donate toward the Joplin recovery. Even a single dollar can help! Thank you!

Woah.

I have never been in a tornado and was unprepared for what this video would sound like. As another user stated, I was not expecting it to stir up the emotions that it did.

That was gut wrenching.

After living through that, I'm pretty sure I would've had a few of those beers.

The only problem i noticed here is they seemed to be upstairs not hiding. they were in the eye of the storm i think saying its over but a little more preparedness and calm it would of been easier

They taught us in the army how to keep calm in such situations--do some simple yoga exercises, like bend over, place your head between your legs, and kiss your a** goodbye. Auf wieda bye-bye.

Definitely this is not a joking matter, but father was in the army and he told me that once, too! haha

WOW. I was not expecting that video to stir up so much emotion in me. Glad there was a happy ending :)

That brought tears to my eyes and made my stomach churn. I'm so encouraged by the courtesy and compassion these folks had for one another. It's amazing, after viewing this man's aftermath video, that they made it out alive.

This also brought tears to my eyes. The young child saying "I love you mommy" really got to me.

Some must suffer severe emotional shutoff to not sense the terror and chaos of this event. This is absolutely chilling video. Worse is what we don't see ... the aftermath which goes on and on and on and on....

Wow, I checked it out. Best footage I've seen of a twister.

WAY worse than Blair Witch. The sound of the tornado is insane. I started crying when the young man said "I love everybody. I love you all" and the woman was repeating "Jesus Jesus". Hearing people terrified is so hard. So glad they made it out.

very similar video from yesterday's tornadoes in Oklahoma, this happened about 6 blocks from my mom's house...

The lady who kept calling on Jesus gave me chills. I know that's exactly what I'd be doing. And the guys saying he loves everyone was amazing.

That felt like it lasted forever and I wasn't in it...I can't even imagine. I feel so bad for those people...they stayed more calm than I could have.
