Oprah kicked off the final week of her talk show with the first of a two-part "Farewell Surprise Spectacular," which brought thousands of fans and a bevy of mega-celebrities to Chicago's United Center to host and toast the daytime queen. Oprah famously hates surprises, but she had no idea who was showing up to send her off. Below, see some of Oprah's most shocked, awed, joyous and verklempt reactions to the spectacle unfolding in front of her.

Who cares, I know I don't. Boo Hoo she made billions. Now she'll go somewhere and make more. Whoopie.

Her last show, the only one I ever watched was without a doubt the most boring hour in the history of television. I expected hearing about her other shows a whole lot more than listening to her say the same thing over and over and over again. I am so glad I recorded it.

Oprah is such a beautiful spirit and loving soul. I will miss her dearly, but can't wait to see what she and Rosie do on OWN.

For all of those who are wishing Oprah would just go away, I would like them to name one person who has done as much for so many, who has accomplished so much from so little and someone who is more deservent of such a farewell, in our lifetime. I am not talking about a Pope, a Mother Theresa or an elected official. Whether the topic was about race relations, poverty, gays, poverty, genocide or whaterver, Oprah stated a dialogue. Some of you decided not to participate in the dialogue, but millions of folks didand are better people because of it. Perhaps it is because she is an African American, woman no doubt, but I am as proud of her as anyone could be. And this final spectacular has been just that. Spectacular!

How presumptuous you are, listentome! Posters can dislike the behavior
of someone without you resorting to making up reasons why we do.

And, no, this finale has been shameful promotion of theis woman
who is so full of herself.

And to you Olive Stemforn, millions and millions and millions of folks disagree with you. It's like anything else in life. If you don't like her, keep going. Stop dropping in when you see her name. Oprah is no more full of herself than any other successful person.

You call it shameful promotion of her. Like she needs it. She is one of the few people in this entire universe in which all one has to do is say her first name, Oprah. You call it a shameful promotion, which leads one to believe that you watched the finale. If you had you would not honestly believe it to be shameful. If you did not then you are being very presumptuous.

Dislike the behavior? Oh yeah! Successful behavior. A sharing behavior. A paying it forward behavior. Oprah should be so ashamed of herself for being and making a positive contribution to society.

I think perhaps it is a good thing to have young people SEE her success, see what can be achieved. Yes, it is an over-the-top victory lap she is taking...but maybe there is a value to ringing the gong in this particular instance. Forget the bow she is taking, and consider young girls in particular who are watching her. In a society that worships youth and beauty over brains, here is an overweight, middle aged, not particularly attractive black woman taking the world by storm. She is SHOW business. And that is what she is doing.

I think part of her job is to bang the gong of doing good. This is, of course, a victory lap. But isn't there a value to having people see that doing good IS good. The average person can't relate to Bill Gates of Warren Buffet giving away billions to charity. They are abstract people. Oprah's success is linked to being 'real'. So is it a bad thing to be a carnival barker for good causes? I don't think so.

self aggrandizing to the absolute maximum and she milks it all

You're just mad because she has more money than you-- and she's a woman of color.

Don't be such a hater. What have you contributed to the world or even to the space you occupy?

You're attacking posters with honest, well thought-out remarks,
and then you resort to the "hater" card?

Also, it is changing the subject to ask what a user has done
when the user is not the subject.

Someone somewhere got something out of her shows where personal enhancement is concerned. That was the point of the show.I can't hate on her for becoming filthy wealthy .Congrats and keep it moving O.

If you are jealous of Oprah don't read or watch anything with her name on. You are doing a lot of damage to yourself by trying to tell the world about your hateful feelings toward her. Just go hide somewhere and play with yourself and you will feel better.

You are trying to deny posters from telling their critiques of her.
That is in no way fair.

I think its time she wraps it up, she's got her millions, her reputation is still in tact, so lets end it now. She's been leaving for the last 5 months!

I am so sorry--It just pains you so much to witness so much success. Get it over.
