Los Angeles Mayor 2013: Will Eric Garcetti Run?

Speaking to Sherman Oaks Patch, LA City Council President Eric Garcetti played it coy when asked directly if he was running for mayor, but he admitted that he definitely was "leaning yes." Garcetti cited the demands of his current job and explained that he still had to be re-elected for council president in July before any decision could be made about 2013.

Garcetti also emphasized the importance of his family, stating that, "you have to make sure everybody's on board for sure... Family comes first."

He then goes on to list all the places his family has lived, presumably to show off his LA bona fides: "My family has lived in East LA, I grew up in the San Fernando Valley, I've lived in Echo Park, Silver Lake, my Dad grew up in South LA, my parents live in West LA."
