Vick: Plaxico Would Be 'Great Addition for Our Team'

Michael Vick joined Anthony Gargano and Ike Reese on WIP in Philadelphia on Tuesday and talked about the report from the New York Daily News that said the Philadelphia Eagles are interested in Plaxico Burress.

The star quarterback said that Burress would fit well with the Eagles.

"Absolutely it would be a great addition for our team. I think with the guys we have now I think we can fit him in and make it work," he said. "I think certainly Plaxico is going to come out with a chip on his shoulder the same way I did and he'll go out and help this football team to whatever capacity he can. I think the guys would be willing to embrace him and bring him in."

Burress received a two-year prison sentence after accidentally shooting himself in the thigh at a Manhattan nightclub and pleading guilty to one count of attempted criminal possession of a weapon in 2008.

He is set to be released on June 6.

Vick, who pleaded guilty to running a dogfighting operation in 2007 and served 18 months in prison, said that acquiring the one-time Super Bowl champion "would certainly be a good thing."
